Evolve Integrative Counseling, PLLC provides telehealth services exclusively through a secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual platform. This page offers a general overview of telehealth-related information and is provided for educational and transparency purposes only.

Formal telehealth consent is required prior to the start of services and is completed electronically through our secure client portal powered by Sessions Health.

What Is Telehealth?

Telehealth, also known as virtual or online therapy, allows clients to receive mental health services through secure video communication rather than in-person appointments.

Telehealth sessions at Evolve Integrative Counseling are intended to provide the same standard of professional care as in-person therapy while offering greater accessibility and flexibility.

Benefits of Telehealth Services

Telehealth may offer benefits such as:

  • Increased access to care across North Carolina

  • Reduced travel time and scheduling barriers

  • Greater comfort and privacy

  • Continuity of care regardless of location within the state

Potential Risks and Limitations

While telehealth offers many advantages, there are potential limitations, including:

  • Technology interruptions or connectivity issues

  • Reduced ability to observe nonverbal cues in some situations

  • Potential privacy risks if sessions are attended in shared or unsecured locations

Clients are encouraged to participate in sessions from a private, secure location using password-protected devices whenever possible.

Privacy & Security Considerations

Telehealth services are provided through a HIPAA-compliant platform designed to protect confidentiality.

Clients are responsible for:

  • Protecting the privacy of their own environment

  • Ensuring devices are secure and updated

  • Avoiding public or shared Wi-Fi when possible

Email and website contact forms are not secure methods for sharing clinical information.

Eligibility for Telehealth Services

To receive telehealth services from Evolve Integrative Counseling:

  • Clients must be physically located in North Carolina at the time of the session

  • Clients must provide accurate contact and emergency information

  • Clients must consent to telehealth services through Sessions Health

  • ​

Emergency Situations

Telehealth services are not appropriate for emergencies.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by dialing or texting 988.

Formal telehealth informed consent:

  • Is required prior to beginning services

  • Includes clinical, technological, and privacy acknowledgements

  • Is completed and signed securely through Sessions Health
